Light Rye Bread Recipe

Bake a delicious bakery quality bread from home, with a light rye taste. This mix and recipe have been tested in the Lollipops Test Kitchen and given the tick of approval.

Makes one regular sized loaf - baked in 680g bread tin.
Ingredients

Light Rye Bread Mix - 500g

Water - 285g

Yeast 7g

Bread Improver - 5g (Optional but recommended)

Method
  1. Pre heat oven to 210°C (fan forced)

  2. Add lukewarm / tepid water into mixing bowl

  3. Add yeast to water

  4. Add bread mix

  5. Add bread improver

  6. Mix on low setting in stand mixer with dough hook for 12-16 minutes

  7. Remove dough from hook and rest dough in bowl for 10 minutes

  8. Rest to prove for 45 minute in a warm area (top of stove is a good place)

  9. Once dough has risen and doubled in size your dough is ready to bake

  10. Put your bread pan in oven and bake for 20-30 minutes

  11. To test if your bread is ready give it a little knock on top and if it sounds hollow you know your bread is ready.

  12. Remove bread from oven and turn onto a cooling rack

  13. Once cooled your bread is ready to cut and eat

Hints

Best consumed on day of baking, however can be frozen.
