Valentine’s Day Baking Hacks

30 Jan 2019

Don’t have the energy to make a giant heart shaped cake this Valentine’s Day? Or anything Valentine’s themed for that matter? Don’t worry, we have six Valentine’s baking hacks that will impress your crush with minimal effort!

Hack #1 - Heart Shaped Cookie Cutters

Don’t use these on cookies this time, like we just discussed we just can’t be bothered decorating cookies. Instead simply bake a tray of brownies as per normal, then cut them into heart shapes using our stainless steel heart shaped cookie cutters once cool. Instant chocolate love, no decorating or cookie spacing required.

Hack #2 - Sprinkles

This is probably our easiest and quickest hack. Just grab a bunch of our Sprinkle Pops Hearts Desire sprinkles and cover literally anything you’ve baked with them - cookies, cakes, cupcakes, sourdough bread, you name it - it’s now a Valentine’s Day treat.

Hack #3 - Food Colouring

Decorating with sprinkles a step too many? Then just throw some food colouring into the mix! Plain vanilla cupcakes? Nope those are now red and pink love-cakes. Our Magic Colours Pro Gel Food Colours are perfect for mixing in with buttercream or cake mix.

Hack #4 - Heart Shaped Plungers

There are only three steps involved in this hack. Step one roll out some fondant (bonus points if it’s red or pink). Step two use heart shaped plungers to cut out perfect little hearts. Step three cover everything with your fondant hearts.

Hack #5 - Cake Toppers

Actually we take it back, hack #2 isn’t our easiest hack, this is. Grab a cake, grab a love themed topper, whack that bad boy on. You a master of love my friend.

Hack #6 - Heart Shaped Cake

Everyone loves a heart shaped cake! This hack is by far our favourite, using the Mondo Pro Heart Shaped Cake Pans its as easy as adding your cake batter and baking into a heart! Simple yet absolutely stunning and the perfect gift for your special someone this Valentine's Day.
