Gluten Free Savoury Scones Recipe

Love a good scone, and savoury scones are no different.  The beauty with this recipe mix is you can experiment and add different fillings for various flavours and textures.  Savoury scones are also a great addition to kids school lunches or Mum & Dad's lunchbox for work.

Ingredients
 

50g Butter - Softened

350g Bakels Gluten Free Baking Mix

190g Milk

100g Tasty Cheese (Grated) 

 

Optional Extra Fillings:

chopped red capsicum

chopped green capsicum

diced bacon

Method
  1. Mix softened butter and Bakels Gluten Free Baking Mix until mix resembles soft crumbs

  2. Add water and mix to a soft dough

  3. Do not overmix

  4. Add cheese, red and green capsicum and mix in

  5. Roll out dough to 3.5-4cm high and cut into desired size

  6. Placed on greased oven tray and brush with milk, rest for 15 minutes for improved colour and rising time

  7. Bake at 170C for 12 minutes or until golden

Hints

Baking instructions are to used as a guide only and baking conditions will vary from oven to oven. 

Handy Hint:

You can double the recipe mix and yield approximately 34 5cm round scones
