Bakels Sponge Mix Recipe

Sponge Cake ....... conjures up images of jam & cream fillings with strawberries and a light dusting of icing sugar.   An Australian favourite for high tea, afternoon tea or just because the scrumptiousness of jam, cream & cake cannot be resisted when all three are combined. 

Bakels sponge recipe mix is the perfect mix to create a delicious sponge cake that's perfect your next morning tea treat.

Ingredients
 

1Kg Bakels All in One Sponge Mix

660ml Water

 

Method
  1. Place ingredients in large mixing bowl, mixtures doubles in size during whisking

  2. Combine together on speed, scrape down sides after 1 minute

  3. Continue to whisk on top speed for 6-8 minutes

  4. Then on second speed for 2 minutes

  5. Pour cake mixture into prepared cake pan

  6. Bake in oven on 190 degrees

Hints

Be careful not to overcook, cooking for longer at a lower temperature can help with this.

Cooking times vary for larger tins and cooking times vary with ovens.

Always grease & paper line tins.
